Still a Busy Bee

I was still quite a busy bee today. The house didn't get bug bombed today. Hopefully tomorow before we go, but I don't know. We have to be out of the house for four hours after we put it going, and I have to pack for our long weekend up north in the morning as we're leaving after Aaron gets off of work.

What I did today though was run errands and make a few phone calls. All things that I have been putting off for too long and I needed to clear the clutter out of my mind. Here is what I did if your interested:
- I sorted through all of my baby boy clothes that were just sitting in rubbermaid boxes in my room that needed to be sorted. Some of the lcothes aren't going to fit Logan in the right season that Travis wore, so I needed to figure out what else I need to garage sale for this summer.
- tried to stop at our little " tire shop" where we have gotten a few cheap tires in the past to try and see if they have tires for my dad. They weren't open, so I have to call tomorrow.
- Checked the mail to find a free sample of Dunkin Donuts coffee, and three free Huggies Diapers for Logan, for sure those will get used. :)
- I went to the hospital and brought my doctor the papers to fill out and fax to Target head quarters so I can go back to work next month.
- Travis and I went to Target to pick up dish soap and bug bombs and some more Shout. I'm using lots of that these days. Summer clothes are so much more complicated to wash than winter clothes. Many more stains to scrub out.
-buzz to Jenna's eye dr's so they could fill out her pre school screening form saying her eyes are fine. We walked around in there lost for about fifteen minutes before we figured out which elevator went to the third floor.
-I am currently doing my laundry- which should be ready to go in the dryers. Hope everyone has a great fourth of July! We are planning on spending much of our weekend out at the camp. Can't wait!

Ready to Bomb

All clear!
This townhouse is officially ready to be bombed.... for bugs.
I have been seeing this icky little beetles in the house now that summer has finally arrived. They are small and black with a single brown stripe going across it's back. I looked up what they are online, and from what I found I think they are larder beetles, and some icky worm looking things are their larvae. I'm not a hundred percent sure about the worms, but I am about the beetle. Gross right?
So I decided that I am gong to bug bomb this place before we go up north for the weekend. In order to do that though, your house should be clean.... SO.... today I put the pedal to the metal and made tracks around here. And I cleaned. Seriously cleaned. Probably the spring cleaning I should've done in the spring. But I'll use the "I just had a baby so I didn't have the energy" card for that one. :) Anyways.... I gave this place a good scrubbing.

The kitchen: dishes, counters cleaned and I scrubbed the floor on my hands and knees. Don't get too impressed, my kitchen floor is only 4 ft x 9 ft. The only thing that didn't get done in there was my refrigerator. Maybe I'll get to that tomorrow..... maybe. The living/dining room: picked up, vacuumed and dusted... check!

The bathroom: emptied the soggy pee diapers from last night out of the garbage that were smelling up the downstairs, scrubbed the sink, scrubbed the tub, scrubbed the toilet ( I had to put the cleaning solution in three times before I actually got to scrub it. Apparently Travis thought that the blue water needed to be flushed and proceeded to do that twice before I beat him to it with the scrub brush.), and also did the floor in there on my hands and knees. Again don't be too impressed. It's about the same size as my kitchen floor.

Jenna and Travis's room: I couldn't see the floor before I started, now... they have a very nice carpet to play on in their room. :) AND.... it's clean so that Jenna can clearly see that there is no where for monsters to hide in there. Now to figure out where to put all of Logan's clothes. We need a dresser for him. Anyone have one they want to get rid of? :)

Even my room got cleaned! :) And no... I didn't do the classic clean up job and shove everything either in the closet or under the bed. :) Shame on you for thinking that. :0)

So... back to the bugs. Now that this place is all sparkley and clean, I can hopefully work on getting rid those nasty bugs. I have been seeing them EVERYWHERE. From the kitchen sink, under the table, crawling across the carpet in the living room, in my room under Logan's crib, the bathroom ( it was in the sink!) everywhere. I HATE creepy crawlies, so hopefully this bug bombing will work. Wish me luck!

My Donut

We were getting ready to go to the park after supper and Jenna was a big mess. She said she was ready to go. When I asked her if she knew what she looked like, she said yes. When asked what, she replied "um.... A Donut."

Another Beach Day

We spent a great afternoon at the beach. We picked up Wendy's for supper and headed to the lake. The kids had a great time splashing in the water, and surprisingly it was really warm! I had not planned on jumping in myself, but once I discovered how nice the water was I couldn't resist.

Travis LOVED the water tonight. He didn't dare go in much more than where the waves were crashing onto shore, but I was completely fine with that.

Jenna had a blast as well. She was a little bit braver, so I had to keep a close eye on her. I was thankful to have Aaron as an extra pair of eyes.

This is the beach we went to. Beautiful huh? :)

one more time for good measure! He's officialy two months old as of yesterday. We'll see how big he's gotten as he's got an appt. this afternoon. He's due for shots. :(
Poor little guy! Hope everyone has a good day!

Weekend Re-Cap

Logan slept through his first Bridgefest Parade. It was a beautiful evening, and the parade was nice. It was a fun start to the long weekend.

On the way home from my mom's we stopped at Canyon Falls and let the kids check out the water. They wanted to go all the way in. We took them to the beach once we got home and had supper out there too. We grilled hot dogs for the kids and Cheddarwursts for Aaron and I. They were delicious. We went to the local ice cream shop for ice cream afterwards. It was a great way to end the day.

Jenna and Travis at the parade waiting for candy. Most of the entries had run out of candy by the time they got to us, but the kids got a few handfuls. Enough to keep them happy.

It felt so good to come back home yesterday after being up at my mom's since last Wednesday. We had a great time up there. BEAUTIFUL weather almost every day. Sunday we spent some quality time out at the camp before heading back into town for night church. I had a sauna and jumped in "the lake". My first time in there this year. It felt great! :) I love our time spent out at the camp in the summers. I'm going to miss it alot this year when I can't just buzz out there for a hot day or a quick weekend.
It's hot out today though, and after Jenna's eye dr. appointment we are heading to the beach with Jennie.

Full Circle

This always happens. I sit down to nurse my baby and I realize I really have to pee. But by the time I'm done nursing Logan I am onto the next kids and their needs and get totally sidetracked on my way to the bathroom. Before you know it, I've come full circle. I'm sitting down to nurse my screaming starving baby and I realize I have to pee.... I never got there the first time!

never mind the video

The video wouldn't upload right, so I guess you just get to look at the picture. :) sorry! :)

Backyard Landing

We got an email from the school saying that the national guard was going to have a Chinook Helicopter land in the parking lot across the street from our apartment today. So we gathered up our children, and our lawnchairs and went to watch. I thought I'd gotten a better video, but I must've hit the wrong button as it landed. Even across the street it was pretty powerful. It blew me backwards and blew lots of sand and dust at us. The kids were intially kind of scared, but then watched in awe as the blades slowly came to a stop. It was realy neat and I'm glad we got to watch. I mean how often is it that a HUGE helicopter lands practically in your backyard?

Brothers

LOGAN

He was so fussy today! I'm trying to back track and figure out what I ate that might have caused him to cry all evening. I had some broccoli salad for lunch, I wonder if that might have caused him to be gassy. Hopefully the little sugar water bottle we gave him will help and he'll sleep good tonight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

TRAVIS AND LOGAN

Travis has been begging to hold his little brother as much as he can. He will even just come and sit next to me on the couch while I'm holding him. But he's learning to be a little bit sassy, and has found new pleasure in driving his sister nuts. Which in return, drives me nuts. sigh. Something that I don't really forsee ever changing seeing as I had little brothers myself....

I heart garage sales

I found this at a garage sale for a dollar. It's a childrens place costume, in GREAT condition. I don't have a girl that fits this size, but I'm going to let Loretta borrow it for Karmyn this fall. I can just picture her round smiley face in the flower hat. Too cute to pass up! Especially for a dollar. I found tons of other bargains too. I actually ran out of money before I was done! I guess Alanna found me a double jogger stroller today for free at a garage sale. Bonus! I don't know how good of shape it's in, but it's better than none at all!

Also, we went to the local grocery store today, E. Foods, they had a huge outdoor produce sale going on. So Jennie and I went to check it out. There were clowns shaping balloons for kids, free Jilberts ice cream cones, and the local 4-H kids were displaying a few cows ( Jersey and a Holstein) a baby cow, a pig, some sheep and some baby kittens and bunnies. Jenna was in her glory holding the bunnies. Travis held a bunny for all of two minutes before it squirmed a little bit and he freaked out and wanted nothing more to do with it.. He's kinda funny like that. He got the nervous giggles holding it at first on my lap. It was so cute. I wish I would've had my camera with me to take pictures. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Twinners and Tennies

These were my best bargain at a garage sale in the "Valley" last weekend. I LOVE them! And I got them for a whole 25 cents. :0) The lady who was running the sale told me to take good care of them. Well they are much loved in this household. I think when they don't fit him anymore, I'll hang them on a hook off of a shelf in his room til they fit Logan.

This little guy recieved his first buzz cut last weekend. He looks so big now! Something about those summer buzzes. I was quite hesitant to do it because I like his hair a bit longer as it grows in so nice, but he was sweating when it was 68 out. So I took the clippers and gave him a summer buzz. My little brother Levi was impressed so he had me do his as well. Except he called his a schlauters (Slodders) buzz as he was headed to the little Island as far north as you can go and then some, with my dad this weekend. Actually, my dad leaves on Wednesday and comes home late Sunday. He's usually the first one there, and one of the last ones to leave. Anyways, I got off track. After I buzzed Levi's hair too he decided that he and Travis look like twins. So they were more than happy to pose for a picture.

7 weeks

Aaron right before he took off for a long weekend in MN. He had an extra skip in his step that day. He was pumped to go. I went to my mom's as I didn't feel like staying home with all 3 kids and no help.

We decided to stay up north for one more day and get Logan baptized at Pete and Janet's house on Monday night. We were supposed to have it at six thirty, but Richard forgot about it and didn't get there until seven thirty. So we came home on Tuesday morning in time for Aaron to start his 2 credit summer class. Five minutes before it started is when we got home. Guess you could say we cut it kinda close. Especially with all of the construction going on between here and there.

It always feels good to have our babies baptized. Just knowing that they are truly safe in the arms of Jesus and will be taken care of. It's always a weight off of my shoulders.

Kent painted Pete and Janet's house. It looks great! Mostly this picture is for Brian and Katie as they haven't seen it yet. Speaking of houses, we got a call tonight about ours. Our renters are moving out. :( Doggonit. I guess they found a bigger house that they are buying with a land contract. So now we are faced with the decision: to rent it out again ( I doubt we'd get as lucky as to get such great renters as we've got now so I'm leery of doing that....) or to list it with a realtor again. It would be GREAT if we could sell it, but we aren't sure if we can afford to not rent it out. Any suggestions?

And last but not least, this little guy is 7 weeks old today. This picture was actually taken a week ago when he was six weeks, but he still looks the same. Not smiling yet, but he's beginning to make little noises when he's happy every once and a while. I love it when they begin to find their voices. Also, he's getting good at lifting up his head and looking around when you have him laying on his belly on your chest. He looks like a little turtle, he's so cute. :)

Oh goodness!

I was eavesdropping on Jenna today while she was playing with her doll. This is what I overheard.
"Oh goodness! You need a bath tonight!" She was so serious. I love when she plays with her dolls. She is such a little mother, and as an added bonus, she leaves her real baby, Logan alone. Which makes for a happier me. The newness of him hasn't quite worn off yet.

Jenna's new thing is to change her clothes five or six times a day. Drives me crazy. We moved her dresser into her room to make room for Logan's little crib in my bedroom, so now she has free reign to her drawers. She came up with a dress on over her pajamas last night, and when I went to tuck her in after I shut them in their room, she had a completely different pair of PJ's on again. I get a chuckle out of some of the clothing combinations that she comes up with.

I'm finding out how un-smart I am these days. Jenna asks why to every thing I tell her or try to point out to her. And when I do come up with what I think is a good answer, she goes and asks why to that as well!

Speaking of Jenna, I see her sneaking downstairs with a scrub brush and the Windex. Probably not a good combo as she saw me washing the walls yesterday. I think I'll go intervene. Have a great day!
