Five Weeks and Freckles
When Levi looked at this picture the first thing he noticed was that he has freckels! :) I don't think he ever really realized that before.
This little guy is five weeks old already! Where does time fly? We brought him in to the doctors yesterday for a bad cold that just isn't getting any better. He wieghs 10 lb 4 oz! They put him on an antibiotic for five days. Hopefully it'll do the trick. Poor guy is so stuffy and snotty.
And this little guy is feelig better, thank goodness. That was a long week! He's crabbier than a bear today though as he's popping two of his eye teeth on the top. One is all the way through, but the other is still slowly and painfully making it's way down. Poor guy. I'll have to make sure I remember tylenol regularly for him to keep him happier.

The Magic Dumpster
Jennie and I had the great idea today to go and get our hair cut. I'm quite happy with the way that mine turned out! This is the back. Feels good to have it off of my neck.
This is obviously the front. I had a different picture in my mind of how I wanted it done before I went in, but I really like it now. It's something fresh and new!
Jennie and I. She cut ten inches off and was able to donate it! I love her haircut, it's darling.
This is a gliding rocker chair in excellent condition that Aaron found outside the dumpster in front of our apartment this morning on his way to work. I have been dreaming of getting one of these since Jenna was born, but was always to cheap to buy one brand new, and haven't found one at a garage sale yet. Now I don't have too. This free chair was definetly the right price. I told Aaron it must be a magic dumpster. :) We put two couches out there earlier this spring when we got my mom's old one. I like to say we fed it two couches, and it spit out the chair I've been waiting for! :) Needless to say, it totally made my day. :)

Always happens when....
There is a holiday or it's a weekend and the Dr's office is closed! Every time I need to bring my kids in, it's always an ER visit or a walk in clinic as it's after hours or closed. I'm bringing Travis in today. He puked again last night and has loose stools again today. This is day 5 and 1/2 of him being sick, so I think it's time to bring him in. Only I have to wait until Aaron gets home from Jerry's because he has the car seats in the car. Doggonit. I just don't want him to get dehydrated. I already think he's probably partially there the way he can't keep anything in.
Does anyone out there have any idea how to get the vomit smell out of my house? I got home after buzzing up north( Oh yeah, I got to go for the day yesterday and Sat. night thanks to my awesome hubby who stayed home with our sick boy. Thank you Aaron!) and was greeted by a smelly house. Will scrubbing everything down with pine sol work? We need to clean our carpets too after Travis puked on those. I scrubbed them the best I could, but they could still use a deep cleaning.
Also, anyone out there have any idea how to get gum out of carpeting? I noticed the other day that there is a lovely was of gum ground into my carpet and I have NO idea how to get it out!

Still Here
We're still here. Travis is still sick poor guy! He woke up this morning a bit crabbier than normal, so I was wondering how long to wait before I started thinking about heading north. Well he had a quarter cup of pedialite, and about four bites of yogurt. I decided to let that sit in his tummy for a while and see how he does. It wasn't a long wait. Less than three minutes before he vomited. Poor kid. Even after he pukes he's begging for something to eat or drink. The only thing he's had to eat since yesterday was half a piece of toast, a saltine cracker, and a few small sips of his "juice". He just doesn't get why he can't eat or drink anything.
As I write, Jenna is eating a donut, and Travis is bawling for a bite. It wrenches my heart strings! I feel bad eating in front of him. Last night we had lasagna for supper and he had butter toast that he didn't hardly touch. I felt so mean. This sure is a strange bug that he has though. Just when I think he's doing better, he goes and throws up again. He's been doing this since Wednesday night, so this is going on day three that he's been sick. I was hoping for one of those 24 hour flu bugs, but I think this isn't one of those. :( Oh well. I just hope he feels better soon.

So Much For That Idea
As I was in the process of packing up to go north, Travis projectile vomited all over my living room floor. SO.... guess we're not going anywhere. He was kind of sick yesterday and Wed. night. He puked once on Wed, but then nothing til today. He had bad diahhrea all day yesterday, but that tapered off in the late afternoon and he seemed fine. Guess I was wrong. He doesn't seem as if he's really running a fever. I don't know. Poor kid. He's bugging for something to drink and I can't give him any! I might go get some pedialite from the grocery store for him.
I know he can't help getting sick, but I'm kind of bummed that it has to be this weekend. I was fired up to go up north and see my cousins that are coming into town today, and for Zachary's graduation party tomorrow. I guess that's what life with kids is all about. You can make all the plans in the world, but in two minutes those plans can totally change, and not always for the better. Maybe he'll feel better tomorrow and we can try to go up then. It's a long weekend and I don't have to be back for work so I can stay til Tuesday if I wanted too. We'll see. In the meantime, I think I am going to tell Aars to get the rug cleaner from work because Travis puked on the rug. Ick. Hopefully it was this one time only and he doesn't do it again. I also hope that nobody else gets sick.
Hope your fun holiday weekend is off to a better start than mine!

A Little Story
We went to visit Grandpa and Grandma when we were up north this past weekend. Grandpa was more than happy to just sit and hold his newest great grandbaby. After a while he told Grandma " I don't know mom! We might just have to keep this one around." Then he went on to add "It would give you an excuse to not be taking off all the time."
Grandma's reply: "You'd just be left home with the baby."
At least she's honest! :)

The Graduate and a Bride To Be
I'm headed north again this weekend for Zach's graduation party and Memorial Day Weekend. It's crazy to me that I now look up to my "big" little brother! He's grown up lots in the past couple of years and we are proud of him for graduating in two weeks. He's headed to the UTI school in Chicago in the fall. Congrats Zachary! You made it!
Kate's Getting Married!
When we were up north this past weekend, my sister in law Kate got engaged! We are so excited for her and Brian P. from down state. :) They have set the date for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5, 2009. I'm sure she'll have fun planning the wedding she's been anxiously waiting for. :) Alyssa gets to be a flower girl. Love you Kate!

Cutie Patootie
This little cutie patootie came to visit last night for a shower the ladies down here had for Logan and I. My mom, Alanna and Teija came too, but my batteries died before I got a good picture. Karmyn was all smiles as usual, and we got a picture of her and Logan together. They are two months and one day apart.

Lotsa Love
Travis has been cheesing pretty good for the camera lately. I'm still getting used to his changed smile. Still doing good with the teeth. We go for a checkup later this month to double check them.
My little Logan is two weeks old already. Where does time go?
My three happy babies this morning. Some days I still can't believe I'm a mom of 3.
I actually got her to look at me instead of Logan for a picture. :)
Somedays I still can't believe that I'm the mom of three kids! We've been lucky that Logan is yet another great baby. He has really been great. He even sleeps for three to four hour stretches at night. I love that. :)
Jenna's always got to be by Logan. If she's not trying to hold him she's having to "just look at him for one minute." We've got to keep an eye on her!
Happy Birthday Yesterday
Yesterday was Aaron's birthday, so I thought I'd take a quick post today to wish him a great day! :) He got his grades back yesterday. All A's and B's, so he's off of his silly academic probabtion. Yea! I'm SO proud of him for going back to school to better provide for his family. I know it's not easy for him, but he's done it with no complaints and got a 3.5 this semester. :) Happy 27th Birthday Aaron. Also a Happy Birthday to Brian, and my dear friend Jennie!

What I Love About Spring
I decided today that I'm in love with spring. I love seeing the green grass and the red and yellow tulips that are growing in front of my apartment. I love the rain that makes these grow. I love the smell after it rains. It just seems so fresh. I love that it doesn't get dark til around nine.
I really enjoy the sounds of spring too. The birds in the early morning, and the crickets and frogs at night. It reminds me of when I was living at home, and we'd have the windows open at night so you could hear the frogs down at the bicentennial ponds croaking their midnight songs.
I love that we can just walk out the door and not have to put on a jacket, hats, mittens, boots and scarves. Just throw on our shoes and we're good to go! :) I really really love not having to brush a foot of snow off the hood of my van before I even get in.
I love seeing people outside walking with their pets, children or significant others. It's nice to know we live in an area that is great for any sort of outdoor activities. We have many choices of parks to choose from on a daily basis for the kids to play at and wear off some crazy energy. We finally get more than a few days of sunshine a month and it's warm enough outside when it is sunny to actually enjoy it to it's fullest.
But most of all I love spring because summer follows it and that is truly my favorite season of all. I'm anxiously awaiting the beach days that finally seem within reach again. :) I'm a summer baby (July being my birthday month) so maybe it's in my blood.... who knows. I just know that we live where the summers are hot, but not too hot, and by the best lake ever to swim in, and you can't beat that. :)

More Logan
I saw a picture similar to this one in my dr's office during many of my appointments and REALLY liked it. He was kind of squirmy and didn't really care for the feeling of cold rings on his toes, but I sort of captured it the way I wanted too.
He's almost two weeks old already. We have to bring him in again this week for a wt. check because as of Friday he hadn't gained any wt since we got home yet. We are all so happy he's here and can't get enough of him every day!

Billi Blanket
Why do they even call it a blanket? Logan's billirubin jumped from a 16.7 to 19.3 yesterday, so we had to have a billit blanket delivered to our home. I was expecting something to wrap him in, but it's pretty much a paddle with straps that go around his little belly. When he's on it it looks like he's tanning in his carseat. I brought him outside for a bit yesterday and had him soak up some of the beautiful sunshine that was out there. Hopefully between the blanket and sun, his levels will go down. In the meantime, we have to make another trip to the dr's today. I'll be glad when I can just stay home with him for a whole day.
Garage sales are starting! There are a few around here that I might try to hit up. I'm on the lookout for a baby swing, as ours got moldy last year sitting in our basement and had to be tossed. I'm excited to go look.
My three year old is WAY to interested in body parts lately. It's a new thing I hope she looses intrest in quickley.... I don't always have the right answer to her questions. I'm sure that won't be anything new there for the next many years.
Travis doing good still. I am keeping a close eye on his mouth. It almost looks worse now as his gums are beginning to heal. They must be a bit tender still as he tried to eat a banana this morning and couldn't. He threw a fit til I mashed it up in a bowl for him. Poor guy. I told Aaron yesterday that in a sense if the teeth have to come out, that I almost wish that they would've just gotten knocked right out on the slide. That way we don't have to make the decision to keep them in or not. We're just going to have to keep watching them I guess and see what next month brings.
Oh yes, one more thing. Happy May! :)
